Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, ex-chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive long, blonde hair with a bubbly personality, reveals simple techniques to master and reduces anxiety about restaurant food on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has worked in several of the most prestigious restaurants within New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy as well as competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. The Culinary Institute of America is where she went after earning an English diploma and Communications certificate at Canisius College Buffalo NY. I was awed by every minute that I was a student in The Culinary Institute of America she says. It was hard to study and do enough or put in the hours. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year learning in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred establishment. Burrell gained a greater appreciation of Italian food and culture throughout her time in Italy, which has influenced her style of cooking. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to enhance living conditions for kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about the dangers of childhood diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and teacher Burrell travels throughout the United States to discuss her passion for cooking as well as her professional career.
